"DNS issues made up 5–10% of our support review volume before Entri. Now anyone building on Replit can connect their own custom domain in a few clicks." — Luke Tchang, Cloud Services, Replit
About Replit
Replit is the AI platform that helps you turn your ideas into real outcomes. Describe what you want in natural language, then create, launch, and grow apps, sites, tools, and businesses in one place.
Replit helps businesses of all sizes become Self-Driving Companies, where people set the direction, and agents do the work. Trusted by 86% of the Fortune 500, Replit has become one of the fastest-growing software companies anywhere, crossing $500M in annual recurring revenue.
The Challenge
Getting from "deployed" to "genuinely mine" meant asking builders, many of them writing their first real application, to become DNS technicians for a few minutes: find the right A and TXT records, log into a registrar or DNS host, and paste everything in correctly, with no real confirmation it had worked. It broke down, in small, hard-to-diagnose ways: Cloudflare's proxy left in the wrong mode, duplicate or conflicting records, values copied slightly wrong. Even when it worked, builders had trouble telling whether the domain had actually connected or was just still propagating.
For a platform built on the feeling of "I made this, and it's real," that step was a jarring return to friction right at the finish line. Replit's own Cloud Services team, which owns Custom Domains, watched this play out directly: DNS issues made up roughly 5–10% of its published app technical support volume, on top of the quieter cost of builders who simply gave up before ever seeing their project live at its own address.
The Solution
Luke Tchang, part of Replit's Cloud Services team, initially ran a scoped two-week trial of Entri Connect specifically to de-risk the integration before a full rollout. The goal was proving Entri could be wired cleanly into Replit's existing ownership-verification flow, not hitting a broad rollout KPI.
Luke reported the integration "worked seamlessly" in local testing with no blockers. After successful testing, Replit felt enough confidence in Entri to do a full rollout to 100% of their users on day 1. Replit's own developer documentation now names Entri directly as the recommended path: the "Guided Setup...leverages a third-party service called Entri," which "signs in to your DNS provider and writes the required DNS records" automatically, in place of the old manual A/TXT copy-paste flow.
The Results
They immediately saw a 12% reduction in failed custom domain connections
Tens of thousands of custom domains are now connected via Entri each month
Replit now has a 89% success rate using Entri for automatic domain connections.
The Impact
Replit's Cloud Services team no longer carries a DNS-support burden that used to eat 5–10% of its review queue, and its builders no longer need to know what "DNS propagation" means. For a company growing as fast as Replit, that matters more than it might elsewhere. Every builder who used to get stuck at the DNS step is now closer to living out Replit’s promise: describe it, build it, and see it live, exactly where they want it to live.
